Is Forensics Specialist Brett Partridge Red John?
Brett Partridge has made two appearances in the series so far, once in the pilot and the second in “The Red Sky in the Morning “.
Patrick Jane and Brett Partridge don’t seem to really like each other, and Jane publicly humiliates him in front of other police officers in the pilot episode. Both episodes were focused on Red John, which could be a coincidence or another clue given to the audience by the writers.
Brett seems to match Rosalind Harker’s physical description of Red John, and the body build and behavior appear to be congruent with what little is seen of Red John in “The Red Sky in the Morning”. The killer was wearing a mask, however, and seemed to be using some kind of voice distortion but the voices of Red John and Brett Partridge seem pretty similar once compared.
Patrick Jane’s humiliating remarks were in regards to his ‘strange’ personality, calling him a ‘ghoul’. Red John seems to understand how to not leave forensic evidence behind, and since that’s the sector where Brett works, it could explain the absence of any real incriminating evidence.
Brett is probably at least Red John’s accomplice, which would be extremely valuable working in CBI forensics, not to mention being able to carry out other tasks such as impersonating him or executing witnesses who have become liabilities, such as agent Bosco’s assistant Rebecca.
In the episode “His Red Right Hand”, a man wearing a tie is seen on the surveillance feed whom the audience is led to believe is Red John (or at least an accomplice). He comes into the CBI to dispose of Rebecca after she executed agent Bosco’s investigation team. Close examination of the video shows certain details, including the use of a jacket that possibly reads “FORENSICS” similar to what Brett has been seen wearing.
Is Brett Red John? He’s certainly a strong suspect!

It would make sooooooooo much sence if Partridge. They both sound alike, (Which is I think what Patrick would have probably noticed) they both hate each other because Partridge is quote “erksome”, and in both episodes hes in, it is mainly about Red John.
It can’t be Patrick because in one episode (i forget which) two girls ask him to sit with them and he said no I’m married. Come on it just can’t be him, no way. And for him to have a split personailty something tromatic would have to happen to him when he was a child. If he ever did get one, it should have been AFTER he saw his wife and child killed.
No longer even a question. Red John is Forensic scientist Brett Partridge. Look at the last episode where Jane sets up the SJK killer. Look at the last seen where jane drives up to the scene where Red John took out his latest victim. Who is that in the background eyeing Patrick as he gets out of his car and walks toward the know who Red John is and scene? Brett Partridge. Rewind and look. It will freak you out when you realize now that without question we know who Red John is and he;s actually with the police force and investigating his own crimes.Go back and watch the episode where Brett Partridge is doing the crime scene at the fake Red John Crime scene. Listen to the conversation he has with Jane and later in the same episode when Jane is tied up and blindfolded with Red John killing the imposters. Trust me.
The problem with all these people is that I can’t really see a reason for them to be so intrested of Jane. I have my own thought of something about when Jane left the Carnival, someone with intrestes of Jane for example his father. Jane’s father didn’t like that Jane just left him and why would they suddenly show a flash back of his father? There must be a reason why they put him in a flash back, it must be a bigger reason too it, because the aperance of him doesn’t change anything in the series.
In my opinion he’s the only one that would have a intrested in Jane overall, could it be that when Jane left he’s father went insane because things people that he loved was leaving him? Anyhow can’t tell intill I know if Jane’s mother is dead or not.
But the thing that breaks the theory is that in the series they state that Red John must be high up in the Police ranks to be able to get so many fbi and so on, to work for him to get contact. But as we know Red John seemse to be able to use anyone with a damaged past.
